The Executive Council

Hubaib Sheheryar

President

Hubaib Sheheryar, a fourth-year Law major at LUMS, exemplifies the passion and drive that defines this society. He finds it to be his immense privilege to welcome you all to the 21st iteration of the LUMS Model United Nations Conference, as this year’s President of the LUMUN Society.

His Model UN journey began in grade 10, participating in major conferences across Pakistan, with LUMUN standing out as a dream to conquer. Today, as President, he reflects on the surreal experience of leading the very conference he once aspired to excel in as a delegate. Hubaib began his LUMUN experience as an Assistant Committee Director for DISEC, later serving as Chair for both DISEC and UNHCR – the latter serving as the end to his time in the Secretariat. He also led the LUMUN Orator, an innovative workshop aimed at fostering debate and MUN capacity in Pakistan. Last year, he played a crucial role in LUMUN’s record-breaking back-to-back victory at Harvard National MUN as part of the winning delegation.

Beyond MUNs, Hubaib’s life reflects a blend of creativity and discipline. A musician who plays guitar and piano, he thrives in artistic expression. His passion for MMA and time spent bonding with friends keep him grounded, while as a devoted Coldplay fan, you’ll often find him singing Yellow around campus.

As LUMUN 21 approaches, Hubaib is committed to creating an unforgettable experience, ensuring every delegate shares the same thrill and opportunities he once cherished. His aim is to leave behind a legacy forever entrenched in the history of LUMUN. Let the journey begin!

Laiba Abid

Secretary-General

Laiba, our Secretary General for LUMUN, is a third-year student majoring in Law. It is with a warm heart that she welcomes you all to the 21st edition of the LUMUN conference.

Her journey with MUNs dates back to her time as team captain during A levels, and has continued with joining LUMUN as a freshman. Over the past two years, Laiba has represented Pakistan twice as part of the winning delegation at the Harvard Model UN Conference. She chose to import her international experience into her roles back home: as assistant chair for SPECPOL, chair for double-delegate SOCHUM – our largest committee to date – chair Women@LUMUN, and facilitating the ongoing collaboration with the Oxford University UN Association. Her continued commitment to the society stems from dedication to the sport, love for the capacity to create change, and recognizing the privilege that comes with such exposure. Laiba never imagined coming so far and being so fortunate. As Secretary General, she hopes to provide delegates the same opportunity to dream big and to work hard chasing those dreams.

Outside her work at LUMUN, Laiba is known for her outgoing nature and energetic personality. You can frequently spot her on a run around campus or painting cassettes. Being a regular at LUMUN jam sessions, she really enjoys sharing a laugh with friends and vibing to Pakistani bops.

As she brings her Model UN journey to a close with LUMUN 21 this December, Laiba looks forward to welcoming you all on campus for an unforgettable MUN experience!

Zahra Nadeem

Director General

As the Director General to the LUMUN Society this year, it is with great pride that Zahra Nadeem welcomes you all to the 21st Edition of the annual LUMS Model United Nations Conference.

Currently in her fourth year at LUMS, Zahra is pursuing a degree in Accounting and Finance. Her journey with LUMUN began in her freshman year during a period of global uncertainty. Over the years, she has risen through diverse roles across departments (including Security, Human Resources and Delegate Affairs, and Women@LUMUN) – each experience deepening her commitment to the values and vision of the society. Having witnessed LUMUN’s remarkable growth into a conference that knows no bounds, Zahra is determined to further its legacy alongside her dedicated team.

Outside her responsibilities with the society, Zahra is known for her vibrant personality and approachable demeanor, often bringing a crack of laughter to every interaction. In rare moments of leisure, she indulges in true crime documentaries and painting – an amusing contrast to her otherwise driven lifestyle.

As the conference dates approach, Zahra looks forward to welcoming you all on campus this December to an unforgettable, transformative experience.

Mujeeb Khan

General Secretary

Mujeeb Khan, the General Secretary for the 21st edition of the LUMUN conference, is a senior at LUMS majoring in Law. He is thrilled to welcome you to this year’s conference, promising an experience to remember.

Mujeeb’s journey with LUMUN began in his freshman year when he served as the Assistant Director MnP during a hybrid conference. It was there that he built longing connections and soon LUMUN became an essential part of his life. Over the years, Mujeeb has gained valuable experience in various departments, including MnP, Human Resources, and External Relations, and has even taken the stage as a speaker at the LUMUN Orator. Now, alongside his team, he’s dedicated to pushing LUMUN’s reach even further, and confident in its potential to achieve new heights.

Outside LUMUN, Mujeeb is a familiar face on campus. You’ll often find him wandering around with a cup of tea in hand—true to his heart as a chai lover—or sharing a laugh with friends. Whether he’s cracking jokes, playing cards, or spontaneously joining a sport, his lighthearted nature makes him easy to spot.

Mujeeb is genuinely excited to welcome you to LUMUN 21, with high hopes of making this an enriching and memorable experience for everyone involved.

Abdullah Saim

Treasurer

Abdullah Saim is a fourth-year Management Sciences student at LUMS and the proud Treasurer for the 21st edition of the LUMUN conference. His journey with LUMUN began during his freshman year, back when the conference was online due to the global pandemic. Over the years, he has had the privilege of being part of LUMUN’s meteoric rise, witnessing its evolution from virtual halls to the vibrant, in-person experience it is today.

Having explored departments like Social Events, Finance, Operations, and Marketing (his personal favorite for the sheer creativity and fun it brought), Abdullah has cultivated a deep understanding of what makes LUMUN truly special. These experiences have shaped his passion for creating an unparalleled platform for debate, diplomacy, and connection. Outside the bustling world of LUMUN, you’ll often find him jamming to his favorite music or passionately cheering on Liverpool.

This year, as Treasurer, Abdullah is committed to taking LUMUN to unprecedented heights. With our collaboration with the Oxford University United Nations Association and our focus on “Shaping Global Perspectives,” he aims to deliver the largest and most impactful LUMUN yet.

He is incredibly excited to welcome you, our delegates and corporate partners, to what promises to be a landmark edition in LUMUN’s legacy!
