Rafay Hakeem

President

Rafay is a fourth-year student at LUMS, majoring in Political Science. He finds it to be his immense pleasure and privilege to welcome you all to the 20th iteration of the LUMS Model United Nations Conference as this year’s President of the LUMUN Society.

Model UN as a sport and LUMUN, in particular, have had a tremendous impact on Rafay’s high school and university life, first as a delegate and later as a member of the LUMUN Host Team for the past three years. He has seen the tremendous impact that Model UN as an activity can have on himself and his peers in terms of personal growth and awareness and hopes to provide an even more enriching experience to all the delegates attending the 20th annual session this year. Outside of Model UN, Rafay can be found reading non-fiction, writing alternate-reality stories, and traveling around the country with his friends.

As he reaches the final stages of his Model UN journey with LUMUN, Rafay is excited to share many memories and experiences with the LUMUN 20 Host Team and delegates at the conference and looks forward to welcoming you all very soon.

Reza, our secretary general for the society this year is a fourth-year student majoring in Economics and Politics. He is incredibly excited to welcome you all to the 20th Edition of LUMUN in December.

Having been a part of the circuit for almost 8 years now, when it comes to MUNs, he’s seen it all. Throughout these years, he’s also been fortunate enough to win both national and international accolades. His association with LUMUN started back in his O-Levels, when he first attended the conference as a delegate. His journey has brought him to this stage once again, one last time. As secretary general, his biggest hope is to see delegates striking the right balance between focusing on the MUN and absorbing the LUMS experience which he always found to be the most enjoyable bit back in the day.

Outside of LUMUN, Reza can most frequently be found cracking a joke and sharing a laugh with almost everyone he comes across. He loves tennis, but the thing he’s probably most well-known for is his collection of insane socks. In his words, his socks “don’t miss”.

Find Reza and his socks this year at LUMUN!

Maham Humair

Director General

Maham is a fourth-year student at LUMS majoring in Economics and Politics and as the Director General of the LUMS Model UN Society, she is delighted to welcome you all to the 20th edition of LUMUN.

Maham has been involved in organizing and executing Model UN Conferences since her O Levels. She joined LUMUN in her first year at LUMS, but COVID took away the on-campus experience for two years. LUMUN has remained an important part of Maham’s LUMS experience. She has been deeply involved in the society for four years, with various experiences such as the Social Responsibility Program, Registrations, and the Conference Manager for Youth Leadership Parliament. Her aim for this year is to build upon the in-person LUMUN conference experience and ensure that delegates have an exceptional four days.

When Maham is not busy with LUMUN work, she can be found on the volleyball court, scrambling to meet grad school deadlines, and with a cup of coffee in hand.

She is thrilled to welcome you all to the LUMUN Conference this year!

Manal is a senior at LUMS, currently navigating her journey as a Management Science major with a minor in Public Policy. As the General Secretary for the twentieth edition of LUMUN, a conference that celebrates two decades of LUMUN’s legacy, she eagerly awaits to welcome you all on campus this December.

Manal’s journey with LUMUN began during her freshman year when she served as an Assistant Director for the External Relations department. Over her years in the Society, she recalls engaging in panel talks, chairing YLP committees, late December nights dedicated to event planning, old Lahore trips with her team, and all the ups and downs in between. Manal has also had the privilege of co-founding the Women at LUMUN platform, an initiative that she holds close to her heart. LUMUN has not only provided her with a platform to grow both personally and professionally but has also been the place where she has found some of her closest friends.

Outside LUMUN, Manal has assumed a dedicated role of making the right jokes at the wrong time, or so her friends say. If you happen to catch up with her on campus, know that you are in for a good laugh.

Hassan Alvi

Treasurer

Hassan, our treasurer for the 20th edition of the LUMUN conference, is a third-year student majoring in Law. He is thrilled to welcome you to this year’s annual LUMS Model United Nations conference.

Hassan began his journey at LUMUN during his freshman year and served as the Assistant Director of Social Events. Since then, LUMUN has been an integral part of his LUMS journey. He aims to take LUMUN beyond its past success and deliver something remarkable, in line with his motto, “Sky is the limit.”

Outside the walls of LUMUN, Hassan can be found at various locations on campus, debating Pakistani politics, giving his not-so-expert cricket analysis, and being effortlessly funny during his classes. He is also a regular customer at the batch nights, so if you bump into him, don’t forget to say Hi.
